STEM Saturdays is a recurring, monthly Saturday program that brings free, hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities to K–8 students in the Ayden/Pitt County community. Each session is built around a themed, project-based activity such as building simple circuits, constructing bridges, coding basic sequences, or conducting hands-on science experiments — designed to be engaging for a mixed-age group while introducing core STEM vocabulary and concepts.
STEM Saturdays aims to deliver direct, hands-on academic enrichment that builds real skills in science and math.
The program is structured to grow student confidence and curiosity over repeated monthly sessions, not as a one-off event. By pairing achievable, hands-on projects with encouragement from mentors and family members, students leave each session having built something and understood something — a concrete confidence win
Like TRENDUP Foundation's other programs, STEM Saturdays is rooted in strengthening Ayden and Pitt County families and connecting them to resources and opportunity.
